OrderGlance ("the extension", "we") is a Chrome extension that shows customer context on Shopify admin order pages. This policy explains what data the extension handles and where it goes. The short version: your store data goes from Shopify to your browser and nowhere else. We have no servers that receive it, and we use no analytics or tracking.
Store credentials you enter. This is your store's myshopify domain and admin handle, plus either an Admin API access token or a Dev Dashboard app's Client ID and Client secret. They are stored locally in your browser profile using chrome.storage.local. Short-lived access tokens obtained with your Client ID and secret are kept only in chrome.storage.session, which is cleared when the browser closes. Credentials are sent only to your own store at https://{your-store}.myshopify.com.
Order and customer data from your store. When you open an order page, the extension requests that order's details from the Shopify Admin API using your credentials. This can include customer name, email, phone, tags, notes, order history, refunds, shipping address and risk assessments. It is shown in the panel and held briefly in memory (about one minute) to avoid repeat requests. It is not written to disk by the extension, and it is not sent to us or to any third party.
Settings. Your copy templates and panel preferences are stored locally in chrome.storage.local.
The page you are on. The extension reads only the URL of Shopify admin pages to find the store and order id. It does not read or collect the content of the admin page or any other website.
Pro is sold through Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com), which acts as the merchant of record and processes the payment. When you buy Pro or start the free trial, you do that on Dodo Payments' checkout page, and Dodo Payments receives the name, email address, billing address and payment details you give it. Its own privacy policy applies. We receive the order record Dodo Payments shares with sellers (for example your name, email and subscription status) so we can provide support and honour refunds.
After purchase you receive a license key by email. If you enter it in OrderGlance, the license key is sent to Dodo Payments to validate it. Specifically, the extension:
https://live.dodopayments.com/licenses/activate to activate it on this browser (test builds use https://test.dodopayments.com);/licenses/validate about once a day, and/licenses/deactivate if you remove the key.These calls use Dodo Payments' public license endpoints; no account password or secret key is involved. The key, its activation id, and the product name and purchase email returned by Dodo Payments are stored locally in chrome.storage.local so the extension can show which license is active. Dodo Payments never receives your store credentials or any store, order or customer data. If you never enter a license key, the extension does not contact Dodo Payments at all.
You, the merchant, remain responsible for your customers' data under your own privacy policy and applicable law. OrderGlance only displays data your Shopify app credentials already allow you to access, and only on your device.
The extension is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.
We will update this page if the extension's data handling changes, and change the date above.
